Throughout my teaching journey, I have gained valuable practical experience both in secondary and primary education settings. During my practicum at a secondary school, I had the opportunity to plan and deliver engaging English lessons, manage classroom dynamics, and adapt my teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of adolescent learners. This experience deepened my understanding of curriculum planning, assessment, and student engagement. In addition, I have also provided private tutoring to a primary school student, where I focused on building foundational English skills and boosting the child’s confidence in using the language in daily life. These experiences have helped me grow as a flexible and empathetic educator, capable of supporting students across different age groups and proficiency levels. I have completed Bachelor’s Degree in Special Needs Education. I have more than 2 years of experience working with Preschool and Primary school children, including Learners with different learning needs. I enjoy making lessons fun, simple and engaging through activities, visual materials, games, worksheets and hands-on learning. I believe every child learns differently, so I adjust my teaching methods according to each student’s ability, learning pace and needs. I provide tuition for Preschool and Primary-Level students, including subjects such as Bahasa Melayu, English, early literacy, Phonics, Suku Kata, Basic Mathematics and Speaking skills. # About Me Hi, I’m Qistina, a Mathematics tutor and founder of QTutor with 3 years of teaching experience. I’m currently pursuing my BBA at Universiti Malaya and am a PETRONAS Scholarship Holder. I’ve helped hundreds of students improve their Mathematics through patient, step-by-step teaching. I believe every student can excel in Math with the right guidance, support and learning approach.

I have experience providing home tuition to school-aged children, helping students improve their understanding and confidence in subjects such as English, Bahasa Melayu, Science, Sejarah and reading. I work with students of different learning abilities and adapt my teaching approach according to each child’s needs, learning pace and level of understanding. Rather than simply focusing on completing exercises, I aim to make sure students understand the concepts and are able to apply what they have learned independently. I am patient, approachable and committed to creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. I also believe in identifying areas where a student may be struggling and providing additional practice and guidance to strengthen those areas. My experience working directly with students has helped me develop good communication, patience and the ability to explain concepts in a simple and engaging way.

I tutor Primary, SPM and IGCSE students in Mathematics and Computer Science on a freelance basis and I've been doing it since December 2025. My approach with Maths is pretty simple: explain a concept, let the student try a question, see exactly where it breaks down, then re-explain using whatever angle didn't land the first time. I don't move on until it's actually solid, not just repeated back to me. Sessions run about two hours, split between a warm-up, a recap of the last lesson, the new material and then practice. On the Computer Science side, I teach programming through actual projects rather than slides, using Scratch, Python and HTML/CSS/JavaScript depending on the student's level. I also volunteer as a Scratch trainer with the ICT Programme at SJKT Sungai Besi, teaching block-based programming to Primary school kids, so I've worked with a wide age range, from young children just starting out to older students prepping for exams. I got an A* in IGCSE Mathematics myself, so I know the syllabus from the inside, not just from teaching it. What I think makes me a decent Tutor is patience with repetition and a willingness to try a different explanation instead of just saying the same thing louder. I'm a Software Engineering student at APU, which also means I can push CS students past the syllabus into real algorithms and problem-solving when they're ready for it.

Experienced Home Tutor with over 10 years of experience of guiding students be a better version of them. I was a tutor to both of my cousin after MCO (One was 10yo and another one was 13yo. I taught them both Chinese subject, where two of them are now studying in Chinese Independent High School. They are both now able to speak in Chinese to their friends and able to write chinese essays.
