Hi! I’m Rin. I’ve completed my A Levels and plan to pursue Chemical Engineering. I achieved 3A* and 1A in my A Levels, as well as 8A+ and 1A in SPM. Throughout my own academic journey, I developed structured learning systems, revision methods, and approaches that helped me understand concepts deeply and achieve strong results through self-directed learning. I have experience helping and teaching my siblings, who are currently preparing for SPM, as well as supporting peers from school in subjects related to my areas of strength, including Foundation and IB-level content. These experiences have helped me develop patience, clear communication, and the ability to break down difficult concepts into simpler steps. I genuinely enjoy learning and sharing knowledge with others. Teaching gives me a lot of satisfaction, especially when I see students gain confidence and become able to solve questions independently. I focus on building strong foundations, adapting my explanations to each student’s learning style, and helping students understand concepts rather than simply memorising methods.

I have been tutoring for 7 years. I was graduated from University of Malaya in Bachelor Science with education, majoring in Biology and Minoring in Chemistry.

With over 15 years of teaching experience, I bring a strong foundation in English language education, supported by a B.Ed in TESOL from Macquarie University, Sydney, and an MA in TESOL from Victoria University of Wellington. I have taught a wide range of students, both in classrooms and online, with a particular focus on spoken English, Academic Writing and Exam preparation. In addition to English, I am also qualified to teach Maths, Science and Sejarah at the Primary level and have experience teaching English, MUET, Sejarah, Science and Maths to Secondary school students. My broad subject knowledge allows me to support students across multiple disciplines, helping them build Academic confidence and achieve meaningful progress. I have also served as an Examiner for Board exams, giving me insight into assessment standards and helping students better prepare for high-stakes testing. My teaching approach is student-centered, flexible and focused on making learning effective and engaging.

Experienced Home Tutor with over 10 years of experience of guiding students be a better version of them. I assist students of all levels, even ones having troubles catching up in class, to improve their understanding. I primarily focus on explaining topics students have trouble understanding to build confidence. This allows students to be more attentive in class and be able to focus better.

I tutor Primary, SPM and IGCSE students in Mathematics and Computer Science on a freelance basis and I've been doing it since December 2025. My approach with Maths is pretty simple: explain a concept, let the student try a question, see exactly where it breaks down, then re-explain using whatever angle didn't land the first time. I don't move on until it's actually solid, not just repeated back to me. Sessions run about two hours, split between a warm-up, a recap of the last lesson, the new material and then practice. On the Computer Science side, I teach programming through actual projects rather than slides, using Scratch, Python and HTML/CSS/JavaScript depending on the student's level. I also volunteer as a Scratch trainer with the ICT Programme at SJKT Sungai Besi, teaching block-based programming to Primary school kids, so I've worked with a wide age range, from young children just starting out to older students prepping for exams. I got an A* in IGCSE Mathematics myself, so I know the syllabus from the inside, not just from teaching it. What I think makes me a decent Tutor is patience with repetition and a willingness to try a different explanation instead of just saying the same thing louder. I'm a Software Engineering student at APU, which also means I can push CS students past the syllabus into real algorithms and problem-solving when they're ready for it.

Provided one-to-one exam preparation for Cambridge O Level/IGCSE English Language 1123, focusing on Directed Writing, Narrative Writing and Summary Writing. Used past papers and official marking schemes to assess student work, identify weaknesses, and provide targeted feedback on content development, structure, grammar, vocabulary, punctuation, tone and exam technique. Helped the student improve from 50+ to approximately 65–70 marks in practice papers through personalised lessons and regular writing assessments. I was also a tutor to both of my cousin after MCO (One was 10yo and another one was 13yo. I taught them both Chinese subject, where two of them are now studying in Chinese Independent High School. They are both now able to speak in Chinese to their friends and able to write chinese essays.

15++ years of experience in teaching/tutoring and 10++ experience of teaching in an International School by a prominent education group in Malaysia.
