Summary
I have hands-on experience teaching math, having successfully helped my younger sister understand the subject, which led to her achieving good results. Additionally, I taught my 11-year-old cousin, addressing his challenges in math, and his grades improved significantly after our sessions. I’ve always enjoyed math myself and received an A in SPM for the subject, which further motivates me to help others grasp mathematical concepts. With this background, I’m confident in my ability to tutor and support students in improving their math skills.

Tutoring Methods / Style
In a math lesson with me, I focus on building a strong foundation by starting with core concepts and progressively moving to more complex problems. I typically begin by assessing the student’s current understanding through simple exercises or questions. For example, if a student is struggling with fractions, I would first explain the basic idea using visual aids or real-life scenarios, such as dividing a pizza, to make the concept relatable. Once they grasp the basics, we move on to more challenging problems, working through each step together. My approach is very interactive, encouraging students to ask questions, and I ensure they understand the “why” behind each solution. This method boosts their problem-solving skills and confidence.
For younger students, such as my 11-year-old cousin, I integrate fun and engaging activities, like games or hands-on exercises, to keep them interested while learning. This helps to break down any intimidation they might feel towards the subject and fosters a positive learning environment. I provide plenty of positive reinforcement, which helps build their confidence and willingness to tackle harder problems. My goal is to make lessons both educational and enjoyable, ensuring students are fully engaged and steadily improving.
