I am retired US University Professor. I have taught graduate and undergraduate level courses for over 20 years in the Science and have tutored both undergraduate and high school students. Subjects I have taught include general Biology and Chemistry for Science majors and non majors as well as advance courses in the Biological Science such as Cell and Molecular Biology. Also courses for non majors such as Marine Biology and Human Biology. I have also tutored students at all levels in all these subjects. In addition I have taught scientific writing as well as written scientific articles. I prefer to do in person tutoring in my home or online, however, I can travel to the student's location.

For Science, understanding the basic principles is key. It is important the student is able to build a solid foundation by understanding the concepts and not rely on memorisation. I make sure the student understand the principles and then with some addition problem solving to practice building on these principles. Unlike Science, learning or improving the use of a language will need more memory work to acquire an adequate vocabulary, but an understanding of the mechanics of the language is also important.
