Summary
I have taught Cambridge A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics at a local private college for 7 years. Throughout my time there, I had the opportunity to get to know personally many students from different walks of life and it was a great experience having taught all of them.
Academically, I guided 209 students out of 291 to obtain A/A* (71.8%) and also 14 students to achieve Top in the World Award for Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
Throughout the 7 years and up til now, I have also given out private tutoring to students from various programmes: A Level (Cambridge, AQA, Edexcel), IGCSE, AUSMAT, UEC, American curriculum, University Engineering Mathematics.

Tutoring Methods / Style
My teaching style starts with active learning, meaning I involve my students in their learning process as much as possible. I find out what level they are at, then I come up with a scheduled plan to cater to their needs. My emphasis is to help them understand concepts and then doing practice rather than memorising and just listening. I also make sure they understand WHY they are learning a specific topic and WHEN in real life they need it.
Besides active learning, I also prepare students for exams very early on. I expose students to Exam Questions from Day 1 onwards. Homework is essential to drill students and also to stretch their thinking, so I give a substantial amount after every class.
All in all, my goal in teaching is to help students realise their full potential, pushing them to achieve the best grades that they can. On top of that, I also help students appreciate how interesting their subjects are.
(Depending on how much time or the level of my students, I will adjust my methods to suit the student's needs.)
